Estrutura artística sediada em Lisboa, dedicada ao desenvolvimento e promoção, nacional e internacional, da dança e da performance contemporâneas. Tem como missão apoiar e apresentar artistas portugueses e estrangeiros, cujas áreas de trabalho são a dança e disciplinas artísticas que trabalham o corpo, o movimento e o pensamento. São objetivos da EIRA criar, produzir, difundir, promover, afirmar e projetar a contemporaneidade portuguesa. A EIRA produz e promove o trabalho do seu diretor, Francisco Camacho. Ao completar 30 anos de atividades, reafirma-se como estrutura de criação artística contemporânea e como local de passagem, encontro e cruzamento de criadores e projetos. Prossegue a sua atividade através da produção de novos espetáculos, da organização de festivais internacionais, mostras, ciclos, encontros, conferências e laboratórios artísticos.

We start in emptiness, where there is a problem to be solved, and embark on a journey that promises to be complex and challenging. Problems are found within the body itself and its limitations: How do we deal with these limits, circumventing them and finding alternatives? What path do we take to resolve the issues in the architecture of our body as a metaphor for the broader problem?

“What is a problem?” is a performance built on stage, featuring two dancers and a musician, dedicated to a young audience. Observing younger generations and their way of thinking when they create and question has a transformative role – it has taught me a lot.

The body, curious and perceptive, seeks and reaches out for a journey about to be discovered through movement, construction, drawing, and sound. The aim is to constantly activate physical, sensory, and emotional responses to overcome problems and find solutions.
